Sometime later Nick learns that Lauren changed the dollar amounts of the bids, causing Vouble to lose his bids. I was into anything written by JM after “Double Standards. This is my first Judith McNaught book and though I have a problem with the story there’s no denying that the author knows how to weave her words and pull a reader’s attention. Dropped from 4 to 3 on a re-read. I know it was outdated and definitely showed its age with some political incorrectness in sexual harassment in the office place, but I loved the story.
What did was the lack of connection I felt towards the characters.
As much as I loved this one, it kinda makes me wonder if JM actually wrote it because it lacks the maturity that I usually find her writing. I would have liked it better if he got hit by a train at the fouble while the h ran off with her boss Jim while he was wearing the grey sweater she knitted for the H. There’s a part of himself that he will not share with others, jufith even us.
